Carbon Records CR214

If the first Rash album was the sounds of matter being shredded in a black hole with waves of guitars feeding back upon themselves to create the ultimate density, their new album "Center of Gravity" is what's left after a star goes supernova. Starting with acoustic guitar and upright bass and building into heavy drones with a slow burn of layered distortion and delay, Rash has expanded their palette to evoke a more varied landscape. At times this album conjures the contemplation of Barn Owl, while at others it mines the doom drone of SunnO))) journeying between these extremes with a meditation of what can be done with one chord and two guitars.
