Lavender is a collection of drones, improvisations and textural works from Favorite Haunts. A project from San Francisco-based Alex Muñoz that runs the gammut from lofi pop songs, to a large upbeat improvisational live group (adding Sewing Circle to the name for these), to experiments with looping, tape recording and sampling. This new tape finds Muñoz in an introspective head space, improvising with a variety of acoustic instruments, organs, keyboards tapes, microphones, and electronics. The results feel devotional, comforting, and dynamic with an emphasis on exploration, tone seeking and texture building. Jump into these sonic fields of floral olfactory inspired tones with ears engaged and let them wash over you, til you are splayed out on your back among the foliage, watching the clouds dance on by.
