Another Sunday

Like some terrible tuna (eel) writhing up out of the mighty Whanganui River to crush the 'burbs beneath its sinuous coiling convulsions the glorious Sunset Temples manifest fully formed and awesome on their debut hardcopy release.
Featuring stalwarts of the lower North Island experimental music scene Sarah Bingle (Universal Joint/Hoopla), Elise Bishop (Universal Joint/ BadCop BadCop/ On) and Campbell Kneale (Birchville Cat Motel/Black Boned Angel etc) the 3 have played with and around each other since at least the late 90s (as riffed on by the band photo on the inside panels of this release that actually dates from 1998).
'Another (Future Blues) Sunday' is made up of one long devastatingly loud and heavy improvisation for radically detuned guitar, bass and drums. Here's what Mr Kneale had to say about it:
"It’s getting to where we want to be somehow… drums that are ‘felt’ more than heard, bass that wobbles and loops, guitar that almost fractalizes into complete abstraction… and yet still be a three piece blues band like Hendrix and Led Zep and The Stooges. I dunno… some grubby kinda Fushitsusha nonsense."
SARAH BINGLE: drums
ELISE BISHOP: bass
CAMPBELL KNEALE: guitar
