Thierry Monnier (Sun Stabbed/La Morte Young) was a French guitarist with a fascination for New Zealand, its landscape, people, and culture. In February 2020 he recorded a guitar duo session with Bruce Russell (Dead C./A Handful of Dust) in Lyttelton, NZ. He returned to France and sadly later died from a pre-existing illness. Before his death the raw recordings were shared with Harry Smith (Fermata Ark) who added various sonic elements and treatments. A selection of the mixed duo recordings were issued on LP by Thierry’s friends in 2023 as Les Francais sont les ennemis du Pacifique, and now the alternative electro-acoustic version is finally seeing release as well.
Good Friday Plowshares Missile Silo Witness takes its name from an act of civil disobedience by Plowshares, an anti-nuclear weapons Christian pacifist movement. On Good Friday, April 17, 1992, at the Whiteman Air Force Base, MO (Gods of Metal - Eric Schlosser).
