Various Artists - The Sun Is Not True

Offside

The compilation is alive and well at Carbon Records, with a smattering of different styles and approaches to home recording presented on the label’s 300th release. Between the meditative ambience of Rock Candy, the 4-track pop writhings from Holt Bodish, and the wall scraping explorations of Bruce Russell & Peter Wright’s Escalation - there’s something for nearly everyone. To complete the reminder of how things once were and could still be, the 12” comes packaged in recycled jackets that have been beautifully and crudely screen printed. Carbon label head Joe Tunis has been at it since 1994 and he’s still plowing full steam ahead.
